New Movie Releases – November 11, 2016

This week’s new movie releases includes an many interesting films. There’s sure to bo something for nearly everyone, including The Best Man Holiday, Ender’s Game, Diana, All Is Lost and other recent titles.

Reaching for the Moon

Frustrated poet Elizabeth Bishop travels to Brazil and encounters the beguiling architect Lota de Macedo Soares. Initial hostilities make way for a complicated yet long-lasting love affair that dramatically alters Bishop’s relationship to the world around her.

The Best Man Holiday

After nearly 15 years apart, Taye Diggs, Nia Long, Morris Chestnut, Harold Perrineau, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Monica Calhoun, Melissa De Sousa and Regina Hall reprise their career-launching roles in ‘The Best Man Holiday,’ the long-awaited next chapter to the film that ushered in a new era of comedy.

Ender’s Game (+UltraViolet Digital Copy) [Blu-ray]

In the near future, a hostile alien race called the Formics have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost.

Counselor [Blu-ray]

Ridley Scott’s The Counselor, from a script by Cormac McCarthy, stars Michael Fassbender as the title character, a slick lawyer who is madly in love with Laura (Penelope Cruz).

How I Live Now

et in the near-future UK, Saoirse Ronan plays Daisy, an American teenager sent to stay with relatives in the English countryside. Initially withdrawn and alienated, she begins to warm up to her charming surroundings, and strikes up a romance with the handsome Edmund (George MacKay).

‘Diana’ takes audiences into the private realm of one the world’s most iconic and inescapably public women — the Princess of Wales, Diana (two-time Oscar nominee Naomi Watts) — in the last two years of her meteoric life.

All Is Lost

Academy Award winner Robert Redford stars in ‘All Is Lost’, an open-water thriller about one man’s battle for survival against the elements after his sailboat is destroyed at sea. Written and directed by Academy Award nominee J.C.

Christian O’Connell (Ivan Sergei) has met the girl of his dreams in Alison Marks (Jennifer Love Hewitt). Unfortunately, Christian told Alison (who happens to be a rabbi’s daughter) that his name was Avi Rosenberg, and that he was Jewish- neither of which are true.
